About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Gas & Petroleum Project Manager to lead and oversee end-to-end project execution within our petroleum operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing upstream, midstream, or downstream projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of petroleum and gas projects from initiation to commissioning.
- Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring timely delivery within approved cost and quality parameters.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Technical & Operational Oversight
- Oversee drilling, production, maintenance, engineering, and construction activities as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with international petroleum standards (API, ISO), HSE guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Review technical drawings, engineering designs, and operational procedures.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, HSE, field operations, and management teams.
- Manage contractors, service providers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Report project status to senior management with clear KPIs and performance updates.
Financial & Contract Management
- Oversee procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
- Evaluate technical and commercial proposals and participate in tendering processes.
- Ensure projects adhere to financial budgets and optimize operational costs.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Ensure adherence to HSE policies, conduct safety audits, and support incident investigations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience managing projects in the oil, gas, or petroleum sector.
- Strong understanding of drilling operations, production facilities, pipelines, and/or refinery processes.
- Certification in PMP, Prince2, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of HSE standards and oil & gas industry regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software.
